Operation: Hammerstrike

Recently, the Russian-Chechen conflict climbs to a new intensity between deadly terrorist attacks in Moscow and St. Petersburg, and brutal ground operations within Chechnya. Chechen separatists increasingly conduct cross border operations through the Caucasus Mountains from neighboring Georgia. Russian aircraft and special operations teams strike on Georgian soil, pursuing Chechen forces and attacking suspected terrorist camps south of the border.

After having worked for years to meet political and military standards of acceptance, the nation of Georgia is in the final stages of being brought into the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Fearful of its borders and a threat to its sovereign status, Georgia appeals to NATO for military assistance to seal its borders.

Not far from the foothills of the Caucasus Mountains, the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) Pipeline pumps millions of barrels of oil between the landlocked Caspian Sea and the Mediterranean. The project brings immense profits to the shareholders and is the main artery for tapping the rich oil reserves in the region. The United States deploys a significant force as part of the NATO mission to Georgia, not only to protect the security of the newest NATO partner but also to safeguard the significant investments of US corporations into the BTC project. By June 2006, over 10,000 US troops and 5,000 NATO soldiers have deployed across the Georgian side of the border.

A massive Russian air strike against a suspected terrorist camp kills hundreds of refugees in the Georgian foothills in August of 2006. The United States and NATO announce that to prevent the escalation of conflict in the region and to deter the border crossings of Chechen terrorists, combined NATO forces will move 15 kilometers into Russia in order to establish a security buffer zone. NATO forces will assume protection of the Georgian/Russian border from inside of this zone to prevent illegal crossings of Chechen separatists, but all Russian troops are to remain outside the 15 km zone to prevent further attacks on Georgian soil.

Enraged by what is seen as NATO meddling into its internal affairs and fueled by foreign troops in an occupation zone on Russian soil, Moscow deploys a massive build-up of Russian troops along the NATO controlled security zone. Accusations fly of US efforts to control oil in the Caucasus region and to cut Russia out of the oil reserves and the massive profits being brought in through the BTC pipeline project. The floor of the United Nations in New York is a diplomatic battleground. Tens of thousands of troops poise along the Russian/Georgian security zone, a powder keg waiting for a random spark to ignite the region into war.

On June 16th 2007 a wonderful thing happened on my way to the Krono station...

Gecko's came out of nowhere...
I was Completely surrounded !!!
I stayed calm.
Waited to see what they would do next...
As if driven by instinct a female Gecko by the name of Josie seemed to move with stealth cautiously moving the Francine pack and hers closer...closer...
Nightfall came...
They completely cleaned NiteHawk Paintballs entire front entry.
I wasn't scared.
After the dust settled they were gone...
As quickly as they came... just gone...

If you ever get the chance to see them, its quite remarkable...

Thank you Gecko Squad... thank you !!!

SUNNY DAY AT NITEHAWK PAINTBALL
It was a great day for some fun in the sun, if you missed it, you missed out on a great day for paintball.  Dale, thanks for putting on some awsome games and having some great prizes, it keeps it fun.  Playing Civil War was great fun for Lucas, Duncan and Benjamin.  They had never played that scenario before and had great fun.

Great job to the 10 man Secret Services detail from the Gecko Squad (Craig Marney, Chuck Gibbs, Lucas Marney, Benjamin Donnelly) & Regulators - sorry I missed your names.  Thanks for your help in protecting the President - Duncan Gibbs.  Happy Birthday Duncan the mission was a success!!  Have a great week, keep smiling.  See you at the next NiteHawk game June 17, 2007.

Check out the Scenario Simulation Circuit. It is a tournament scenario copyrighted by Oasis Paintball Plantation, LLC.. By our description, it is a "war game" or simulation competition that is timed at 15 mins. per challenge, but the tournament bracket allows each team to play twice; once on offense and once on defense. However, many teams play more than twice attempting to win the monthly title and sponsorships or sponsored winnings. By winning, contenders have opportunites to rise in ranks both personally and as a team over other teams. Some teams may play 4-6 times or more at any given host field of the Scen-Sim Circuit. The losing teams might only get the opportunity to play twice during a complete monthly tournament. To me, this is the equivalent of speedball for woodsballers or milsim lovers, because it's a rapid-paced, heart-cranking challenge: To defeat the enemy, find or destroy props, collect media/information, enhance your rank/position/team standings and score points personally and as a team during each challenge. For teams that have more than five players- assuming even numbers of 10, 15, 20, ect. large teams may seperate into Alpha/Bravo/Charlie or Offense/Defense A and B playing as seperate teams within a team. In my opinion, It has a bit more depth than the SPPL and the NPPL combined, which should make for great up-close, spectator action and media coverage. My team and I are still constructing the 12'x12' courtside spec. boxes and re-assembling the aerial camera stands; and I personally am still establishing sponsors and host fields, but I am certain that with participation and encouragement it will be an important media and press oriented tournament for our local teams and fields in the Inland Northwest to shine. Also, I have been working with the 360 degree sports news writer for the Spokesman-Review and they will be placing the tournament in a June issue and would like to know of teams that will be participating in future Scen-Sim Circuits. If you are interested or know of any other teams or fields that I have not contacted and are interested in this competition, let me know and I will let the Spokesman know about the July, Sept and Oct. tournaments. I will be placing the webpage online soon.

Dates for the Scen-Sim Circuit scheduled for May 26 & 27, June 23 & 24, and July 14 & 15 at OPP,LLC.

FUN DAY AT NITEHAWK PAINTBALL
It was great to see everyone out at NiteHawk Paintball, and having some good family fun. Thanks for all your help on the field, and off the field working as a team helping our fellow paintball players.  You made the day fun for the team and for those that played with and around us. I had so many compliments about our team play and sportsmanship.  We represented ourselves well.  Many new players were on the field on Sat. and with our style of play and again sportsmanship, players that have never played paintball before enjoyed themselves. This does so much for the sport of paintball.

Great job to the 5 man Secret Services detail from the Gecko Squad(Craig Marney, Chuck Gibbs, Duncan Gibbs, Dino Guagliardo, Kekoa Paikuli) in protecting the President - Lucas Marney.  The mission was a success!!  Have a great week, keep smiling.  See you at the next NiteHawk game April 14, 2007

Gecko Squad – If you were one of those who did not make it out to NiteHawk Paintball field build day, you really missed a fun in the sun day.  There are too many awesome changes to list that will improve scenario play at the field.  Gecko Squad, Irregulators and Kaos Paintball Teams were just a few of the volunteers out at this build event to get the field cleaned and ready for upcoming events.

If you have not been out to NiteHawk lately or have never been to this awesome woodsball field check out
NiteHawk Paintball for directions and upcoming events.
